1940's Claude Anderson trained as an electrician during World War II.
1945 Returning home, he worked as a residential contractor out of his garage on the east side of St. Paul, MN.
1950's Claude & Jeanette Anderson started Claude M. Anderson Electric Company aka Anderson Electric
1959 Claude M. Anderson Electric Co. of MN became incorporated and evolved into the commercial segment.

1961 NEI Northern Electricians, Inc. of WI was founded and incorporated by Donald Eibs & Marv Roberts
1975 Marv wanted to retire, so Bob Rawlings became a NEI partner.
1980's Bob Rawlings became the sole owner of NEI Northern Electricians, Inc. out of St Croix Falls, WI
1994 An additional shop was opened in Menominee, WI
1997 The Menominee location moved to Eau Claire, WI and NEI acquired Sherman Electric.
1998 NEI acquired Halvorson Electric
2004 Anderson Electric purchased majority interest in NEI. Joe Bembnister & John Gerlach became partners.
2007 Nan Renstrom, who had been with the company for 13 years, became treasurer and partner.
2009 Anderson Electric and NEI Northern Electricians changed their name to NEI Electric Inc. Larry Koenig, Safety Director, became a partner.
2014 Jon Reedy, current president of NEI, became a partner.
2020 The St. Paul Office moved to its current location, and another partner is added to the team, Matt Preston.
2022 NEI acquired Ben Franklin Electric and John Gerlach Retired.
2023 Paul Corey became Partner.
TODAY NEI Electric Inc is one company with locations in St Paul MN, Eau Claire WI, and St Croix Falls WI.
